Senior Minster

Immanuel Church Brentford is seeking our next Senior Minister.

 

Our vision is to be a vibrant, reformed church in Brentford and for Brentford. We began worship in May 2016 as a church plant of the International Presbyterian Church and have grown to a membership of 25 adults plus children and regular attendees.

 

Brentford is a growing and revitalizing community in West London that we seek to serve through the proclamation of the Gospel. We host two services on Sunday, weekly community groups, and monthly prayer in addition to other ministries.

 

Our next minister will be a man qualified to hold the biblical office of elder, ordained or ordainable in the International Presbyterian Church, with a passion for preaching God’s word and caring for God’s people. Context

  • Immanuel Church began public worship in May 2016 and has been an established congregation of the English Speaking Presbytery of the IPC since 2017

  • We have two worship services on a Sunday, plus monthly congregational prayer meetings, community groups meeting weekly and regular Adult Sunday School.

  • We have a membership of 25 adults and 13 covenant children

  • After several years of illness, Stuart Cashman (the planting pastor) went home to be with his Lord in November 2023.

  • We seek to be a vibrant, reformed church in Brentford and for Brentford. We are:

    • Dependent on God’s grace

    • Interdependent in God’s family

    • Involved in Brentford and our communities

    • Speaking God’s Word with our Neighbours

    • Engaged in God’s World Mission

  • Brentford itself is growing rapidly with many new apartment complexes opening. The local population is varied in ethnicity, age and social profile.

The Candidate

  • The new minister will be a man qualified to hold the biblical office of elder

  • He will hold or be able to obtain certification as a Teaching Elder in the UK English-speaking presbytery of the International Presbyterian Church

  • He will have the following characteristics:

    • Pastoral sensitivity

    • Gentle and strong leadership approach

    • Be committed to personal evangelism

    • Be a strong expository preacher

  • He will be happy to operate in line with Immanuel Church’s values

  • He will be happy to undertake the specific responsibilities outlined in the prospectus
